Bach, JS - Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 (arr)  Ref: 3--007 arranged for two violins and cello Among the most deeply satisfying of all Bach's works, the Goldberg Variations include many movements that sit extremely well on strings. Others require either extreme virtuosity or some degree of adaptation. The Ourtext arrangements have been designed to bring the work as far as possible within the string idiom and avoid unnecessary awkwardnesses while reproducing the musical impact of the original. A few movements call for advanced skill but others are extremely playable. This is a work that has something for almost everybody, and players of intermediate skill will find it rewarding to explore. In this edition, both violinists are given the parts for both 1st and 2nd violin, to facilitate sharing and exchanging of roles.
